Z958 Upgrade Guide (Through an SD Card)
one. Backing Upwardly the Data
one) Download the upgrade parcel.
- Download the upgrade package (update.zip) that matches your device
from ZTE handset website. If the downloaded package is not update.zip,
unzip the package to obtain the file.
- Ensure that your micro SD card is at least 1GB.
- Verify that the update.zip file in the root directory of the SD card
matches the model of the device. Exercise non change the file proper name and
extension name of the files in the upgrade package.
2) Support the data and APPs in your device by using a 3rd-party PC tool.

if required. To avoid data lost or upgrade failure, it is not recommended to

4) Select theastward upgrade package (update.zip). If the upgrade package is already

5) Click UPDATE At present, the device is automatically powered off. Afterward the
device reboots, the Storage Carte du jour Update screen is displayed, see Figure
2-6.

Later the device is updated, it is rebooted again. After the device starts
properly, it is recommended to manually restore the device to its original
manufactory default settingsouthward past selecting Settings > Backup & reset > Factory
data reset to heighten the organization stability. The device is upgraded
properly and can be used.
B. Forced upgrade (for the device that cannot be started or the device that
cannot enter standby state)
1) For a powered-off device, printing and concur both the book up cardinal and
power key until the device shakes once. The device enters Recovery mode.

The device is automatically rebooted. After the device starts properly, it is
recommended to grandanually restore the device to its original factory default
settings past selecting Settings > Backup & reset > Factory information reset to
enhance the system stability. The device is upgraded properly and tin can be
used.
4. (Optional) Restoring the Information
If you have backed up data existfore upgrading your device, restore the data.
